Last week I wrote about a powerful insight that was nagging at me.
One that is tied to becoming a top performer. An elite athlete. A renowned scholar. A billionaire investor.
I know that you’re sick of long fluff packed bullshit blogs so I’ll get straight to it.
There are people who chase outcomes and there are people who fall in love with the process.
It’s that simple.
I spent years trying to look good naked.
Actually, not good. Great.
I wanted to look great naked. That’s ego at it’s finest.
Guess what? It didn’t work.
Because I hated eating healthy and I couldn’t stand exercising.
I sweat, cried, clawed, and got nowhere.
Until it hit me hard As Fuc*.
I needed to change my approach.
So I did.
Fast food is made out of trash. So I stopped eating it.
I started working out for core stability, endurance, and vitality – instead of trying to look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club.
And I now reserve booz overload for nights out with special tribesmen on rare occasions only.
And it sucked ASS. At first.
But changing your habits will begin to transform your mindset.
I started to enjoy eating healthy.
I started to love exercise.
Yes, it burned like a mother kucker at first.
But sweat pouring over eyebrows is a beautiful feeling.
And I really could care less to drink that toxic garbage.
I have everything I need without it and it’s bullshit-body crushing side effects.
Of course, this is just one example.
When I looked back over my life, I realized that all achievement came in the areas where I dug in and fell in love with the work.
The areas where I sucked were the areas that I skimmed the surface. Where I expected the gold medal, without the gold standard work ethic.
Fulfillment comes from hard work. Find something hard that you love doing and go do that.
Dreaming big is required to live elevated above mediocracy. But so is the hard work to get there.
Fall in love with the process and own your destiny.
